This tab is a video buffer muxer, which serves as a media data container. In conjunction with the MPMux extension, it receives and processes buffering data from the target video. The muxer supports both live and on-demand videos. The received buffering data will be multiplexed into a video file and ultimately output in MP4 format!
No extension detected, you need to install the MPMux extension for your browser!
The faster the video buffering, the faster the "recording" speed. The muxer offers up to 5x playback speed options (available in MPMux v1.2 and above). Increasing the playback speed can effectively speed up the buffering progress of the target video. Note that you need to adjust the playback speed according to your network conditions and the target video. Otherwise, it may cause lag and trigger resolution changes in the target video.
The video quality is determined by the current playback quality of the target video. If the target video offers multiple quality options, please choose the one that suits you. The muxer does not re-encode the video buffering data; it encapsulates it into an MP4 file with the same quality. Since MPMux v1.2, if the quality of the currently "recording" video changes, the muxer will not create separate MP4 files for each quality. Instead, all segments of different qualities will be merged into a single file based on the timeline.
The extension relied on by this downloader is hosted on the Chrome Web Store and Edge Extension Center and complies with their policies. The muxer handles standard-compliant media data based on the HTML5 MediaSource API. It does not perform any special handling for specific websites or bypass their technical restrictions. We only provide a useful tool to users using well-known methods. We are not responsible for any media files downloaded by users, so please be aware of copyright issues regarding the downloaded content!
This is a free tool, and it may show you ads as the website servers and CDN services require funding to maintain them. We appreciate your understanding!
Do not close this tab, as it is receiving and processing media data. Also, do not close the target video, and let it play.
In fact, "recording" does not mean capturing the video footage; it records the buffer data generated during video playback. Many online videos switch resolutions based on your network conditions. When the recorder receives data of different resolutions, it generates new segments. If you don't want the video to be segmented, you can set a fixed resolution before starting the recording (if the target video offers this option) to prevent automatic resolution switching.
On the other hand, due to memory limitations, the recorder automatically segments when the content exceeds a certain size (approximately 1GB). You should save the completed segments as soon as possible to prevent data loss due to insufficient memory.
It can record streaming videos such as HLS videos, fragmented MP4 videos, and it also supports recording online live streams. For static videos (directly played using the video tag like MP4 or WEBM), the recording feature is unavailable.
If your video plays well on the webpage but cannot be played after downloading to your computer, it is likely a video encoding issue. The recorder preserves the original encoding format of the video data without re-encoding. Currently, many videos use H265 (HEVC) encoding, which may not be supported by your player. In this case, try using a different player or install the necessary codecs for your player.
This error may be caused by two reasons: first, the target video data is not output according to technical standards; second, the target video buffer data might be encrypted, both of which can lead to incorrect parsing of data by the application, resulting in an erroneous video file.
The faster the target video buffers, the quicker the recording. To speed up the recording process, make the video load buffer data faster. You can speed up playback or adjust the playback progress to the latest position of the buffer bar to accelerate buffering. However, be careful not to move the playback progress to a time point where the buffer bar has not yet reached, as this may prevent the application from processing the data correctly.
Another point to note is that if your recording target is a live stream, you cannot speed up the recording because live streams are real-time and do not preload media buffer data.
Yes! You only need to install the extension in your browser without any registration or login requirements to use it. You can download videos as many times as you want without any limits!
No! MPMux does not host your videos, retain copies of downloaded videos, or store your download history on the server. All video download tasks are completed in your browser without going through a third-party server, ensuring your privacy is protected!
